Nathan Ziegler, Founder and Attorney-at-Law
Nathan Ziegler is the founder of Nathan Ziegler & Associates, the first full-service asset protection, elder law and estate planning law firm in West Texas. Based in Lubbock, the firm’s focus is helping families have peace of mind in the second half of life by protecting their options and their assets from the cost of long-term care. Nathan and his team craft customized planning for each of their clients, using an array of specialized tools, such as asset protection trusts, estate planning, Medicaid planning, Veterans Benefits planning, and Special Needs planning. Nathan is a board member of the Texas Chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA), and is also accredited by the Veterans Administration. Nathan and his wife, Sondra, are featured speakers on a wide range of topics related to planning for the second half of life. They have been married for 25 years and have three children, Abigail, Alexandra and Samuel. Nathan likes to fly fish and listen to *classic* country music (not that new stuff). They love camping with their kids and their two unruly dogs, George and Bear.
Sondra Ziegler, Chief of Staff
Sondra serves Nathan Ziegler & Associates as Executive Director. In this role, she performs a variety of functions, including process implementation, and data management. Sondra formerly served as West Texas Regional Director for a 72-county area of the state for U.S. Senator Phil Gramm. Sondra also enjoys conducting seminars on the Veterans Pension benefit, Medicaid Nursing Home benefit eligibility, options for paying for long-term care, and on other elder care topics related to the work the firm does for families throughout West Texas.
Carolyn Ball, Financial Manager
Financial Manager Carolyn Ball was raised in the Lake Cumberland region of Southern Kentucky. She and her husband, Jim, enjoy spending time with their eight grandchildren.
Laura Blizel, Director of Client Services
Laura was raised in Austin, and came to Lubbock to attend Texas Tech University. She joined Nathan Ziegler & Associates in August of 2015 and serves as Assistant to the Executive Director. Her responsibilities include client services and data management. She is married to Bryan, and they have one son, Zach. She enjoys going to the movies, watching sports with her “boys” and playing with her two dogs, Poppy and Baxter.
Mandy Coleman – Executive Assistant to Nathan Ziegler
Mandy is a Lubbock native, born in east Texas but raised right here in the Hub! As a Frenship High School graduate and a Lubbock Christian University alumni, Mandy has deep roots in Lubbock.
Mandy loves spending time with her family: husband Jon of 8 years and girls Malloree 5 and Preslee 3. They are very active in church and church activities. Mandy is an avid crossfitter and enjoys the thrill of deer hunting! She also loves to take family vacations around the US and Internationally.
Prior to joining NZA Mandy served as General Manager in various retail enterprises. In 2015, desiring more time with her family and realizing the rewarding investment of helping people, Mandy transitioned in the insurance field, licensed for both property & casualty and health & life insurance. Mandy began working for NZA in the spring of 2017. Mandy enjoys working in a capacity that is personal and customized to each client. Mandy excels in a team environment where her leadership experience and skills are utilized every day!
Corey Graham, Client Services Coordinator
Corey was born and raised in Lubbock. She married her husband, Brady in May 2016. She enjoys outdoor activities, playing with her three dogs, spending time with family, and working with people.
Pamela Gray, Paralegal
Pam was raised in Post, Texas by hardworking, compassionate, and gifted parents. She moved to Lubbock and had the good fortune to work as a paralegal in estate planning with Elgin and Jeff Conner for over 15 years. As a person who loves to learn and grow, Pam cast her lot in radiology as a mammographer for over a decade. Pam has returned to the paralegal work she loves at NZA and is enjoying the teamwork and their strong emphasis on customer care. She continues to establish strong relationships with her clients that makes her work so fulfilling and rewarding. Pam spends her leisure time with the love of her life, Monte, researching new ideas, designing, decorating, and simply learning something new every day. Pam has a Cairn terrier named Joey who keeps her laughing and inspires her to be happy. Life is good!
Cindy Hamilton
Cindy grew up in West Texas. She is one of our Client Service Coordinators who help gather information so that our firm can best serve our clients. She is married to Jim and has three daughters that are married, one son and two grandchildren. She enjoys spending time with her family and little yorkie, Berkley. Favorite activities include going to the beach, taking a walk in the park and shopping.

Bailey Berinti, Administrative Assistant
Bailey was born and raised in the Texas Panhandle, and moved to Lubbock in search of new experiences and a different lifestyle than what she was accustomed to. She is the proud fur mom to two spoiled cats, Cricket and Oliver. Bailey enjoys reading and writing in her spare time, as she is a blogger and aspiring author who has several books and short stories in the works. She is also a Save the Bees advocate who loves to travel, knit, walk her kitties, play games and spend time with family and friends.
Scott Meara, Associate Attorney and Wealth Protection Team Leader
Scott Meara graduated from Texas Tech University School of Law in 2017. Prior to law school, Scott received his Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Environmental Studies from Austin College in Sherman, Texas. During law school, Scott was a member of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Clinic, and is a trained and qualified mediator through the Office of Dispute Resolution in Lubbock. Scott previously worked as a legal extern at the Seventh District Court of Appeals in Amarillo; as a law clerk for an Insurance Defense law firm in Lubbock; and as a legal assistant at a Social Security and Disability law firm in Oklahoma. Scott is also a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA).

Rebecca Veach, Paralegal
Rebecca is a Nebraskan by birth but a West Texas gal by choice! Being the middle child of seven (7), she learned to compromise, communicate and be part of a team. The importance of hard work, awareness of others and respect were foundations of her upbringing.
She received her bachelor’s degree from Texas Tech University in Business Management with a minor in Law. Her professional career includes several paralegal positions, being the court administrator for the City of Lubbock, directing a court software team and then returning to her first love of paralegal work. Helping people achieve their estate planning and wealth protection goals brings her a great sense of accomplishment.
She is married to the love of her life, Rob. They enjoy their two adopted cats – Rocky and Grey and are big fans of Texas Tech athletics.
